Almacén de la Capilla Cordano Winery Tour
Winery Tour
We'll meet at the designated time at the entrance to the Cordano Winery (Almacén de la Capilla). As one of the oldest establishments in the region, it holds a truly authentic winemaking tradition in Uruguay. Ready to indulge in some fine wine?
Once we're ready, we'll explore its historic house, adorned with Muscat grapevines and bougainvillea. Here, we'll learn about the history of Cordano, beginning with its origins. You'll discover how this site, linked to the maternal family of former president José Mujica, conserves traditional methods that guarantee exquisite wines.
Along with exploring the cultivated fields, you'll visit the historic Almacén de la Capilla and the barrels where the wine ages, absorbing the unique aroma that defines Cordano wines. The tour will continue with a sensory experience under the shade of the vineyards, where you'll enjoy a tasting of 4 artisanal wines to choose between red, rosé, or white. You'll notice how each wine has its own unforgettable character and uniqueness!
With the wine tasting, you'll enjoy a selection of regional products, such as parmesan, Danbo, and Maasdam cheeses, as well as bondiola (pork shoulder), cured meats, olives, homemade canned goods, and bread that will bring out the wines' flavors. What more could you ask for?
Finally, after about 45 minutes to 1 hour, we'll conclude the experience, but you'll be able to stay in the facilities for as long as you like.
