Scandola and Girolata Boat Cruise
Scandola and Girolata Boat Tour
After boarding the boat at the port of Cargese, you will start a journey along the west coast of the island of Corsica. On this route, you can admire the impressive cliffs that characterize this region of France.
The first point which we visit on this trip is the peninsula of Scandola. Once we come to the enormous rock formations of red and ochre colors, you will know that we have arrived at the unique nature reserve which covers both land and sea. This beautiful region was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983. You will also sail into spectacular grottoes which have been formed by centuries of wind and sea erosion on the rock surface.
Later, we will head to the bay of Girolata, an idyllic location where we will stop for 2 hours and a half, for a rest, to eat in a local restaurant, and to explore the tiny beach coves. The highlight of this corner of the island is the 18th-century Genoese tower which dominates the village and which can only be reached by sea.
Then, we will return on the boat to begin our return journey. On the way back to the port, we will pass the Calanques of Piana and Cabo Rosso, which form part of the breath-taking volcanic landscape and which give the area a unique character.
