If you've recently arrived in Venezuela's capital, embarking on this free Caracas walking tour is the best way to kick off your exploration of one of Latin America's major cities.
Tour Highlights
Welcome to Caracas, the capital of Venezuela! At the designated time, our journey begins with a free tour through the historic center of Caracas, starting next to the Mausoleum of Simon Bolivar and the National Pantheon.
Beginning with an introduction to the liberator's history and the other esteemed figures resting in the pantheon, we'll then proceed to Avenida Norte. Along this extensive boulevard, we'll admire the exteriors of two charming colonial houses. The first is the Casa de Estudio de la Historia de Venezuela, dedicated to Lorenzo A. Mendoza Quintero.
Following insights into Mendoza's history, we'll move on to another remarkable colonial structure – the Casa de las Primeras Letras Simón Rodríguez. Situated near the corner of Veroes and the iconic Urdaneta Avenue, we delve into the significance of this street before continuing our walk to the neo-Gothic Basílica Menor de la Santa Capilla. Renowned for its pinkish and reddish colors, this temple stands as one of the capital's most exquisite.
Our next stop takes us to Plaza Bolivar, where we marvel at the architecture of the Cathedral of Caracas, the Museum of Natural History, and the Casa Amarilla. Concluding our tour, we'll pass by the Caracas Museum, and after an engaging three hours and 40 minutes, we'll wrap up our free tour in front of Simon Bolivar's Birthplace.
