Learn to Prepare Authentic Turkish Coffee in Cappadocia
If savoring an exquisite Turkish coffee in Cappadocia sounds like the perfect plan for you, you'll truly enjoy learning how to make it. For this activity, we'll head to the facilities in the Owl Cave, where our Turkish coffee workshop will take place. Let's get started!
Once we're seated, we'll heat the pan, traditionally called kumdanlik, where the sand will be poured and heated until it reaches the desired temperature. Then, we'll fill the small copper pot, known as cezve, with cold water and add the finely ground coffee.
Next, we'll place the cezve on the hot sand. As the coffee slowly heats, we'll enjoy the rich aroma that begins to rise. Curious about why Turkish coffee is considered one of the most aromatic coffees in the world? You'll find out in this workshop! Once we notice a consistent foam forming on the surface of the coffee, we'll remove it from the sand and serve it in small traditional porcelain coffee cups.
You'll see just how tricky pouring coffee from the cezve into the coffee cups is while you learn all about Turkish coffee. Finally, you'll taste this warm delicious drink! The coffee will be served with a glass of water and some traditional sweets, and you'll also get the chance to try some Turkish tea.
After a total of 30 minutes, we'll conclude this coffee-making experience.
