African Drum Show + Dinner at Gold Restaurant

  • 8 reviews | 112 travellers
Very entertaining, I expected a bit more food (quality, not quantity) and some more dancing for the price, but I still 100% recommend doing this activity. In Cape Town it is difficult to make plans at night if you are a tourist and you are going for a few days, everything closes early, and night security is scarce, so it is an easy way to make more of your stay.

If you're in Cape Town and want to have a unique and unforgettable experience, this African drum show with dinner is the perfect combination - you'll have a great time!

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Cape Town and head to the popular Gold restaurant, where you can sample African flavours and enjoy a live music show with percussion and drumming. You'll love it!

Once there, you'll be seated at your table and the experience will begin with a special performance by Mali, a puppet representing the Bamana people. In their tradition, puppets are intermediaries between the human and spiritual worlds.

Afterwards, you'll be served a menu of 14 traditional African dishes, highlighting the ingredients and ways of cooking of different tribes and ethnicities. Tasting the varying cuisines is a way of celebrating the diversity of the continent!

During dinner, a group of dancers will dance and sing around your table to the sounds and rhythms of the djembe, a traditional drum. You'll also witness a competition between two warriors and the last performance will be dedicated to the kings of Africa, an unforgettable moment!

Finally, we'll say goodbye at the starting point approximately 3.5 hours after the start of the activity.
