Offroading + Hiking at the Caracol Waterfall
Description
We'll pick you up at the indicated time at the agreed meeting point, in the center of Gramado, and we'll get into a 4x4 vehicle to start our adventure. Are you ready to discover the charms of the Caracol State Park? Welcome to Rio Grande do Sul!
When we arrive at the starting point of the Caracol waterfall hiking trail, we'll start walking through the forest. As we go along, we'll see the local plant and wildlife of the region while listening to the sound of the waterfall and the birds.
During the walking tour, we'll talk about the German immigrant Guilherme Wasem and his family. Did you know that they were the first settlers of Caracol State Park? In 1863, they decided to settle in this lush forest in southern Brazil.
Finally, we'll arrive at the Caracol waterfall, a waterfall that plunges from a height of 131 meters (430 feet) through cliffs until it reaches the Lageana valley. Don't forget your camera! You can enjoy the waterfall while swinging, weather permitting, on the so-called Infinite Swing.
After the hiking trail, we'll enjoy a delicious picnic at Casa da Vó Ivonne, a century-old house where we'll continue to learn more about the Wasem family and the culture of the German immigrants in the area.
Finally, following lunch, we'll get back into the 4x4 to take you back to the meeting point, where we'll arrive 4 hours after pickup.
