Chichén Itzá & Chichi Kan Cenote Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your chosen meeting point or your hotel in Cancun.
We'll start our day trip by visiting Chichén Itzá, the sacred site of the Mayan in Yucatán. Once there, we'll begin to uncover the enigmas hidden in the pyramid of Kukulkán. During the solstice, part of the monument is illuminated and another part is in the shadow, which shows the advances in astronomical knowledge in the Precolombine period. We'll reach the base of the pyramid to see its steep steps up close, which make it a unique site. Did you know that it was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007?
Continuing our tour, we'll visit the Chichén Itzá temples, one of the most spectacular being the Temple of the Warriors, decorated with images of war and guarded by a forest of columns, custodians of Chac Mool, the god of rain.
After visiting the archeological site, we'll head to the Chichi Kan cenote to take a dip. Then, we'll enjoy a buffet-style lunch in the area and enjoy a tequila tasting.
Lastly, we'll embark on a scenic tour of Valladolid, a beautiful town in Yucatán where you'll learn the history of the Iglesia de San Servacio, the Palacio Municipal, and the Mercado Municipal.
Finally, we'll head back to the meeting points in Cancún, arriving 12-13 hours after initial pickup.
Important Info
Due to the current situation, the visit to Valladolid will be 25 minutes long, during which we'll visit the church of San Servacio, the Municipal Palace, and the Municipal Market by bus. In turn, time at the cenote will be extended.
During the visit to the archaeological complex of Chichén Itzá, you must be accompanied by a guide at all times, as self-guided visits are not permitted.
