Canberra Wildlife Watching Tour
Description
On the day of the activity, we'll collect you from your hotel in Canberra at the scheduled time and then we'll begin this exciting tour full of adventure. Ready to see Australia's unique animals in their natural habitat? Time to get going!
We'll begin by embarking on a scenic 30 to 40-minute journey through rural Canberra, heading towards the Deep Space Tracking Station at Tidbinbilla, where we'll make our first stop. Once we arrive, we'll delve into the fascinating history of the telescopes found there, which played a crucial role in the Apollo missions to the moon and also the very first moon landing! Nowadays, these telescopes continue to peer into deep space, and we'll learn all about these ongoing contributions to space exploration.
Afterwards, we'll make our way to the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, a sanctuary for some of Australia's most iconic wildlife, where we'll set off on a guided tour. As we explore the reserve, we'll have the chance to see the kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, platypi, colourful parrots and other native birds, as well as emus.
Throughout the tour, our knowledgeable guides will help you truly understand these animals, enhancing our wildlife viewing experience. You'll learn tons of fascinating fun facts about the animals and their natural surroundings, as well as conservation efforts in this area. You'll have a blast!
Finally, after 4 hours together, we'll make our way back to the starting point in Canberra.
