We'll begin this free tour of Campos do Jordão at the Praça do Capivari. This charming spot, reminiscent of a town in the Swiss Alps, is the ideal place to start talking about the history of the town.
After this introduction, we'll head to Campos do Jordão's liveliest street, Geneve Boulevard. There, we'll stroll along the boulevard to admire its terraces and traditional shops. Afterwards, we'll go in search of the church of São Benedito, famous for its neo-gothic architecture from the 1940s.
Next stop? The Casa do Monteiro Lobato, the former residence of a famous local writer. We'll make a quick visit to discover his work focused on Brazilian children's literature. Next, we'll learn all about the development and rise of the city thanks to the old locomotives by visiting the Railway Memory Centre.
Finally, we'll walk to the cable car station, where we'll learn about its importance in the city. We'll say goodbye at this point after a 2-hour free tour. Afterwards, if you wish, you can take the cable car to get the best views of the Mantiqueira Mountains.
