You'll discover the true charm of Callao with this delectable food tour, where you'll also learn to dance salsa.
Food Tour and Salsa Class
We'll meet at the Plaza de la Independencia at 9 am to begin our gastronomic tour of Callao, the most important port city in South America during the viceregal era.
Firstly we'll go to the Rovira restaurant, where we'll have the opportunity to try a delicious snack, consisting of bread and traditional pejerrey, a typical fish from the region. Fish in this area is one of the prime ingredients for many South Pacific dishes.
Afterwards, we'll board a boat that will take us around the port of Callao. We'll observe spectacular views from the boat and see the historical fortress of Real Felipe before arriving to the neighbourhood of Chucuito.
We'll disembark and visit the Mirador de la Rivera restaurant, where the owners will show us the ingredients they use to prepare their tasty dishes, such as ceviche chalaco. And to complete the experience, they will teach us how to prepare it. You'll definitely learn some of the gastronomic tricks of this region and practice what you've learned when you get back home.
After the demonstration, we'll take a break for a delicious lunch made with seafood products.
As a finishing touch, we'll conclude the tour with a fun salsa class where we'll dance to live music. Once our trip has concluded we'll take you back to the original meeting point at 2 pm.
