Colombian Culture in Cali Tour
Tour Details
We'll meet you at your hotel at the indicated time, to begin a walking tour through the Candelaria neighborhood. Ready to learn about Colombia's history and traditions?
First up, we'll visit the Calima Gold Museum of the Bank of the Republic. In its spacious rooms dedicated to the pre-Hispanic period, we'll observe a large collection of gilded goldsmith and handicraft pieces. Through these pieces, we'll better understand what daily life was like in this area of Latin America before the 15th century.
Next, we'll continue reviewing the history of the city by walking around the vicinity of the Plaza Bolivar and the Cali Theater, whose exterior facade is sure to surprise us. In fact, the British radio and television network BBC called this theater “one of the most amazing in the world”.
As a final touch, we'll enjoy a musical demonstration at the Escuela Taller Foundation. This is a center where the most vulnerable population of Cali can be reintegrated into society through music, playing typical Cali rhythms with traditional instruments of the region. A good melody is the best medicine to face life with joy and optimism!
From here, we'll bring the experience to an end, in downtown Cali, 4 hours later.
Enjoy a Live Music Show
If you're joining us on a Thursday or Friday, at the end of the tour those who wish may join us at a bar in downtown Cali to enjoy a live music show. The entrance to the bar is free, but you will have to pay for your own drinks inside the bar.
