Montserrat Day Trip
Montserrat Day Trip
We'll pick you up at your selected meeting point in Calella and board the bus to the iconic Montserrat Massif, home to the historic monastery built in 1025. Get ready for breathtaking views!
We'll ride a rack railway train to the top of the mountain, where the monks of the monastery will welcome us. During this time, we'll share some fascinating facts about the area. Did you know Montserrat is called the 'magic mountain'? We'll find out why by watching an audiovisual documentary.
From here, you'll enjoy free time to explore the area at your own pace, until 3 pm. Fun fact: the massif has seen its share of events, from reported UFO sightings to legends of the search for the Holy Grail itself.
If legends aren't really your thing, then definitely head over to check out the incredible panoramic views from Montserrat, or visit the basilica nearby and marvel at the Virgin 'La Moreneta.' Fun fact: she was discovered in a cave!
Before hopping back onto the bus, be sure to catch lunch at any of the local restaurants nearby for a taste of local cuisine. Then, we'll bring our day trip to an end, as we return to the meeting points in Calella, 9 hours later.
