Discover the most traditional customs of the northern Peruvian villages with this excursion to the Porcón farm and the workshops of Huambocancha.
Porcón Farm + Huambocancha Tour
We'll pick you up at 9:30 am at your hotel in Cajamarca to begin a cultural immersion in northern Peru.
First, we'll head to the artisan workshops of Huambocancha, where well-known stonecutters make their rock carvings. These master craftsmen make sculptures in marble and granite, some of which are so large that they can be seen from far away, and we'll learn about their work during the visit!
Next, we'll head to the Porcón farm, an agrotourism farm located in the largest forest park in Peru. This forested area covers an area of almost 13,000 hectares and the farm contributes to the protection of its fauna and flora. During our visit we'll see forests inhabited by monkeys, vicuñas and deer, among other native animals.
We'll also be able to appreciate the way of life of the farmers and their agricultural and livestock work. The inhabitants of the Porcón farm produce dairy products and handicrafts, maintaining the most traditional customs.
The farm also has a mini zoo where you can see Andean bears and wild animals such as jaguars and pumas. Not only that, but we'll also learn about the agricultural activity of the 'hacienda' or estate by visiting its trout farms.
We'll finish the tour at your hotel in Cajamarca at 1 pm.
