The Khan el-Khalili bazaar is Egypt's most famous market and a vibrant hub for trade in the historic centre of Cairo for centuries.

History

Established in the 14th century, the Khan el-Khalili bazaar was initially established as a trading centre for merchants journeying along the Silk Road, eventually becoming one of Cairo's main commercial and cultural hubs.
