Cattana Wetlands, Barron Falls & Skyrail Tour from Cairns
Description
On the day of the activity, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Cairns at the indicated time, from where we'll start our adventure. Let's go!
Our first destination will be the Cattana Wetlands, where we'll have a guided tour through the heart of a feather palm forest. We'll walk through the unique landscape, soaking up the calm ambience as we pass by the reflective Jabiru Lake and gain insights into the unique flora and fauna that call this wetland home.
Next, we'll visit the breathtaking Barron Falls, known locally as Din Din. This magnificent waterfall holds profound significance to the Djabugay Aboriginal People. We'll meet a Djabugay cultural guide and learn all about the spiritual and historical importance of the falls in their heritage.
It will then be time for lunch! We'll make our way to Skybury, Australia’s oldest coffee plantation and largest papaya grower. While there, we'll enjoy a tasty lunch with Skybury’s signature touches including coffee & papaya elements. After lunch, we'll admire the stunning views across the Tablelands whilst we relax and enjoy the locally grown coffee!
Then, we'll journey through the Tablelands' rich farming area to Emerald Creek Ice Creamery. Here, we'll enjoy a tasting of 4 different ice cream flavours produced on-site.
Following that, we'll board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and journey from Kuranda over and through the World Heritage Listed rainforest. We'll enjoy spectacular views across Barron Falls from The Edge lookout and learn about the rainforest’s evolution in the CSIRO Rainforest Interpretive Centre.
Finally, we'll hop back on our couch at Skyrail’s Smithfield terminal and start our return journey. After a total of 10 hours, we'll arrive back at Cairns. See you next time!
