Cagliari Food Tour
Food Tour Details
Interested in discovering and enjoying the traditional flavors of Sardinia? If so, at the designated time, we'll meet at Largo Carlo Felice, number 76. Here, we'll start our food tour by admiring the centric Piazza Yenne while providing a short introduction to the tour.
We'll walk toward the district of Marina, where we'll dive into the maritime tradition of the island. We'll step into a store to enjoy a mussel soup, some fried bianchetti, and octopus with potatoes. These dishes blend cooking techniques that date back centuries. We'll enjoy these delicacies accompanied by a glass of wine. What a way to start!
Afterward, we'll head to the neighborhood of Castello, the historic heart of the Sardinian capital. We'll reach the Torre dell'Elefante and the Bastion of Saint Remy, where you'll have the best views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea.
We'll continue our tour and stop at one of the oldest stores in the neighborhood to taste a selection of traditional cheeses and cured meats from Sardinia. Among these cheeses, the pecorino sardo, a Denominación de Origen Protegida cheese, stands out. We'll pair these exquisite snacks with a glass of wine!
Our third and last stop will be at a historic café, famous for preserving its nearly untouched original furniture from the 19th century. We'll prepare our taste buds for the sweetest moment of the tour, where we'll try some pastries and meringue, a very fluffy dessert that has been captivating millions for over a century. Here, we'll toast with a last glass of wine to wrap our food tour on a high.
After 3 hours, we'll say our goodbyes by returning to the initial meeting point. Until next time!
