We'll meet at Cadiz Port, where the boat waiting to take us on our cruise of the bay. We'll set sail and, depending on the sea conditions and winds, we'll sail north or south.
If we take the route towards the north of the Bay of Cadiz, we'll be able to admire the walls of San Carlos, the bastions of Candelaria and San Felipe, the San Sebastian Castle, and other emblematic historic monuments. All these constructions, built between the 16th and 18th centuries, give us key insight into the strategic importance of this city since ancient times. From the boat, we'll also be able to spot the Church of El Carmen, a Cádiz Baroque style building.
If we sail towards the south of the Bay of Cadiz, we'll see other defensive monuments including the Matagorda Fort and the Bastion of San Antonio before reaching the shipbuilding factory. Afterwards, we'll pass under the Constitution of 1812 Bridge, where we'll learn how this construction became one of the most important modern engineering works in Europe.
We'll finish the boat trip arriving back at the departure pier after 1 hour and 15 minutes.
