Dolphin Watching in Cape Byron Marine Park
Activity Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Lance Ferris Wharf in Ballin to start this exciting dolphin-watching adventure in Byron Bay. Ready? All aboard!
Once on the boat, we'll sail along the waters of the Cape Byron Marine Park. This site is home to groups of common bottlenose dolphins that you can spot playing and swimming along the coast between Ballina and Byron Bay. Did you know these groups can be made up of 80 to 120 dolphins depending on the season?
During the journey, we'll tell you detailed facts about the area, its marine creatures, and the characteristics of the dolphins that inhabit the park. You'll learn about their habits and behavior while enjoying the ocean's tranquility.
Finally, we'll return to the starting point and say our goodbyes on dry land after 1.5 to 2 hours of sailing.
Dolphin Sightings
The Cape Byron Marine Park is a strategic site for dolphin watching. However, dolphins are fairly unpredictable creatures, so we can't promise a sighting. The chances of spotting them depend on various factors, such as the current weather conditions or the breeding and nesting seasons of the different species.
