Bukhara Private Tour
Bukhara Private Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel at 9 am to start this private tour of Bukhara, one of the most representative cities of Uzbek culture.
Our tour will start start at the Mausoleum of Ismail Samani, the construction of which marked a new stage in the architecture of Central Asia. Within its walls lie the remains of Amir Samani, the founder of the Samanid Empire. Our next stop will be the Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum, sacred to the locals for the healing waters of its well.
We'll continue the tour at the Bolo Haouz Mosque, declared a World Heritage Site. Did you know that its columns are the tallest in the city? Across the street, we'll come across the Ark of Bukhara, the fortress where the emir resided.
Then, we'll move on to the Poi Kalyan complex, which consists of a mosque, a still active madrasa and the Kalon Minaret, the tallest minaret in Bukhara. Nearby are the Ulugbek Madrasa, the oldest in the city and the only monument from the Timurid period, and the Abdulaziz-Khan Madrasa, considered the most beautiful in Bukhara.
Next is the Maghoki Attori Mosque, the oldest mosque in Uzbekistan. It was built in the 9th century on the remains of a pagan temple.
Lyab-i-Hauz, the social centre of Bukhara life, will surprise you with its lively atmosphere and the madrasas of Kukeldash and Nadir Divanbegi. The last point of the tour will be the Chor-Minor, one of the symbols of Bukhara with its 4 blue domed towers.
Finally, we'll take you back to the hotel at 3 pm and say our goodbyes. Until next time!
