Buenos Aires is full of great temples of tango, one of the most outstanding being El Viejo Almacén. This iconic spot, located in the San Telmo neighborhood, was founded in 1969 by composer Edmundo Rivero. Such is its fame and notoriety that in 1982 it was declared a site of exceptional cultural interest.
Relevant tango figures such as Aníbal Troilo, Osvaldo Pugliese and Roberto Goyeneche have demonstrated their talent at El Viejo Almacén. In fact, throughout its long history, important global figures such as the Spanish King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofía have attended as members of the audience.
During the tango show at El Viejo Almacén, which lasts an hour and a half, you'll enjoy an extraordinary staging featuring an orchestral quintet, four tango couples, a male singer, a female vocalist and a folk music group. Among the main artists of the show, the great Argentine actor and tango singer Hugo Marcel stands out.
