Tango Porteño Theatre Show

Located next to the famous Obelisk of Buenos Aires, Tango Porteño was an old cinema of the production company Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer which was transformed into a theater. Still today, it retains its fabulous art-deco style architectural design.

The Tango Porteño theatre has become a reference point in the Argentine capital for enjoying the most popular tango shows. The performances, which always involve a professional cast and amazing stagings, thrill the spectators who attend the show every night.

The theater also has a restaurant that specializes in local gastronomy, combining tradition and vanguard in each of its delicious dinner menus.

The Show

The show begins with a traditional tango, picaresque and milonguero, accompanied by a singer who will perform the most famous tangos such as Gardeliano, Pasional, El Día que me quieras or Balada para un loco, among many other hits. During the performance, you'll be transported back in time to the most important and transcendent period in the history of tango, combining a refined atmosphere and rescuing the pure deco style of the Golden Age.

Plus, the folklore and malambo intervention in the middle of the show will introduce you to another part of Argentine musical culture. You'll love it!

The show starts at 9:30 pm and ends at 11:15 pm. If you choose the option with dinner, the meal will be at 8:30 pm. If you have opted for one of the options with pickup, we'll contact you the day before the activity to confirm the exact time of pickup, which usually takes place from 7:15 pm onwards.

To ensure a smooth pick-up experience from your accommodation (hotels or Airbnb), please specify the full address of your accommodations and make your reservation by 5 pm on the same day. If your reservation is made after this time, we'll meet at Teatro Tango Porteño, and only the return transfer to your provided address will be included.

Transfer chegou no último minuto (20:30 no hotel, mesmo horário do jantar), tivemos dificuldade em contatar a civitatis para saber se estava tudo confirmado e precisamos ligar para saber se estavam a caminho. Seria interessante que chegassem mais cedo. Os atrasos do transfer, também atrasaram o jantar, que atrasou o espetáculo. As mesas são muito coladas. Os garçons estavam apressados e não nos davam atenção. Pareciam incomodados por não falarmos espanhol. Mas o show compensa!!!!!! Show lindo. Translate this opinion into English.

The transfer arrived at the last minute (8:30 pm at the hotel, the same time as dinner). We had difficulty contacting Civitatis to find out if everything was confirmed and we had to call to find out if they were on their way. It would have been nice if they had arrived earlier. A experiência no Tango Porteño foi boa, dentro do que foi proposto. O serviço começou com pontualidade — o motorista nos buscou no hotel em uma van confortável, e o atendimento na chegada ao local foi excelente. A refeição estava boa. Sobre a apresentação, sentimos falta de um foco maior no tango tradicional. O show se aproxima mais de um espetáculo teatral. Mas no geral, valeu a visita.

A experiência foi maravilhosa. A van nos buscou no período combinado. A estrutura do teatro onde acontece o show é muito boa. Os funcionáros foram muito educados. As bebidas servidas estavam ótimas, assim como as empanadas. Uma pena só ter empanadas de carne, poderiam oferecer empandas de queijo também, pois é uma opção para aqueles que não comem carne como o meu marido.
