Buenos Aires, Salta, Jujuy & Tucumán: 9 Day Tour

Day 1: Buenos Aires

On the first day of your tour, we'll pick you up from the airport or bus station in Buenos Aires, depending where you arrive. From there, we'll take you to your hotel in the Argentinian capital, and you'll then have the rest of the day free to relax and to explore the streets of Buenos Aires at your own pace.

Day 2: Buenos Aires

We'll meet up at 9:15 am or 2:15 pm, whichever you'd prefer, in front of the Pan American Hotel, ready to embark on a guided tour of Buenos Aires. We'll set off along the 9 de Julio Avenue, home to a number of important monuments including the Teatro de Colón and the Obelisk.

Continuing our guided tour to the centrally-located Plaza de Mayo, we'll admire the façades of the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Casa Rosada, or "Pink House". We'll then follow the route onwards through the lively neighbourhoods of San Telmo, Boca and Caminito, before exploring the Puerto Madero and Palermo districts too.

From Monday to Saturday, our three hour tour will come to an end in the La Recoleta district of Buenos Aires, and on Sundays we'll finish in San Telmo, so that you can visit the famous antique market located here.

Day 3: Buenos Aires – Salta

After having breakfast at your hotel, we'll pick you up and take you to the airport or bus station in Buenos Aires. Remember: transport to Salta from the capital is at your own expense and must be booked separately. On arrival in Salta, we'll be waiting for you in the terminal or in the station to take you to your hotel in the city. You'll then have the rest of the day free to explore this north-western Argentinian city.

Day 4: Salta

Having had breakfast in your hotel, we'll begin a guided tour of Salta's most emblematic monuments and places of interest. Starting from Plaza 9 de Julio, we'll first admire the beautiful architecture of the Cabildo, the Cathedral and the nearby San Francisco Church. We'll then make our way to the Cerro de San Bernardo, a hilltop viewpoint from which we'll have unparalleled views of Salta.

Leaving the city centre behind, we'll make a visit to San Lorenzo, a picturesque village located just outside of Salta. Before returning to your hotel, we'll make a stop at the Salta handicrafts market where you'll have the opportunity to see local products and buy souvenirs.

Day 5: Salta – Jujuy

Make sure to have a hearty breakfast! We'll pick you up after eating from your hotel in Salta and take you to the airport or station for your journey to Jujuy (not included). Arriving in the northwesternmost region of Argentina, we'll pick you up and take you to your hotel. You'll have free time to rest after your trip or to see the sights of the city.

Day 6: Jujuy – Quebrada de Humahuaca – Jujuy

We'll pick you up at 7 am from your hotel in Jujuy, and the early start will be well worth it, as 50 minutes later, we'll arrive at the charming village of Tumbaya. Continuing onwards through the beautiful mountain scenery, we'll then reach Purmamarca, another beautiful village located not far from the famous Cerro de los Siete Colores, or Hill of Seven Colours. You'll soon realise how it earned its name when you see the breathtaking rainbow created by the rocks. Truly captivating! We'll then head north to visit the Pucará del Tilcara, an ancient indigenous fortress.

After stopping in Uquía, where you'll have time for lunch (not included), we'll head to the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a mountain valley that is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular natural sights in the north of Argentina! We'll also visit the nearby city of Humahuaca, located in the heart of the Quebrada. After a full day of sightseeing, we'll return to Jujuy for around 9 pm.

Day 7: Jujuy – Tucumán

Having had a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, we'll pick you up and take you to the station or airport in Jujuy for the trip to Tucumán. We'll be waiting for you on arrival to transfer you to your hotel, before leaving you to spend the rest of the day as you please.

Day 8: Tucumán

We'll meet you at your hotel at 2 pm for your guided tour of Tucumán. During our route around this historic Argentine city we will get to see the 9 de Julio Park, the Historical House of Tucumán, the Cathedral and the San Martín Theatre. You'll be enchanted by the city's famous monuments, including the Casino and the House of Bishop Colombres. The tour will come to an end at around 5 pm.
