Argentinian Mate Workshop in Recoleta

Discover how to make the classic South American herbal infusion at this Argentinian mate workshop in Recoleta, Buenos Aires.

Discover how to make the classic South American herbal infusion at this Argentinian mate workshop in Recoleta, Buenos Aires.

Description

This Argentine mate workshop will take place at Matea, Aromas y Sabores located in La Recoleta, one of the most happening neighbourhoods in Buenos Aires.

In a room dedicated entirely to mate, we'll begin the workshop by learning about the origins of this world-famous infusion. We'll reveal who invented the drink, the different ways in which it's consumed, its historical and cultural relevance and, above all, its wonderful aromas and flavours!

During the workshop, we'll taste various agroecological and smoked yerba varieties, as well as different mate grinds and blends. As we prepare and savour our mate, we'll also enjoy a selection of Argentinian sweets, including croissants, homemade alfajores and cheese scones known as chipas.

Between one infusion and the next, we'll also learn about some of the legends associated with the world of mate - some of which date back as long as several hundred years ago!

Finally, after a 50-minute Argentinian mate workshop, we'll conclude this activity.
