British Cemetery Tour
Tour Description
At the time indicated, we'll meet at the main entrance to the British Cemetery. We'll enter this burial site in Buenos Aires and take a tour around its tombs and discover its past.
Did you know that it's the first private cemetery in Argentina? And that it was initially built exclusively for protestants yet ended up being a very religiously diverse burial site? Listen to the guide explain all about this place, which indicated a step forward for British and Argentinian alliances.
We'll continue our tour through the mausoleums as we discover the funerary art that is particularly haunting. We'll make stops at particularly interesting points, such as the cineraria crypt, the cemetery's chapel, the ceremonial gate and the Bicentenary Memorial.
Of course, we'll also visit the tombs of significant people in the history of Argentina and Great Britain, such as William Morris, Lauriston Conder, Cecilia Grierson, Andrew Dick, Kenneth Charney and the Drasdille family. Who were they? How did they die? No questions will be left unanswered.
Finally, we'll end this haunting tour back at the meeting point after 2 hours.
