Village Museum + Herastrau Park Tour
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at the Charles de Gaulle Square to kick off our guided tour, where we'll discover two of the most famous places in Bucharest!
Our first stop is one of the oldest art galleries in the world, the Village Museum, better known as the Satului Museum. A beautiful open-air ethnographic collection of the country's heritage, it boasts grounds spanning over 100,000 square meters (1,076,391 feet) and consists of more than 300 rustic buildings showcasing traditional Romanian village life. In the museum, we'll see installations, including wooden houses, farms, mills, and the occasional church.
As we stroll through the picturesque outdoor space, we'll delve into the history of rural life in Romania and share with you how people lived centuries ago. We'll gain a deeper understanding of Romania's cultural diversity through the architecture and traditional clothing on exhibit.
Then we'll move into Herastrau Park, the green lung of Bucharest and one of the favorite places for outdoor activities among Romanians. Next, we'll head to admire a stand-out monument that has become one of the main reasons why the Romanian capital is called the Little Paris. Any guesses as to what it might be?
After 3.5 hours away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Bucharest, we'll end the tour at our starting point.
