Transylvania 2-Day Tour
Transylvania 2-Day Tour
Day 1
After being picked up first thing in the morning from your hotel in Bucharest, you'll leave the Romanian capital behind and make your way north, delving deep into Transylvania: from the "Paris of the East" to the "Land Beyond the Forest".
Following a journey of around two-and-a-half hours by bus, you'll make the first stop on your tour of Romania. You'll visit the small town and mountain resort of Sinaia and its famous Peles Castle, built between 1873 and 1914.
This beautiful architectural complex was built as the summer palace of the Romanian royal family, although these days it serves as a museum. Inside, you'll have the opportunity to discover one of the country's most important historical monuments.
Continue your route through one of the spookiest corners of Europe, reaching the mysterious Bran Castle, thought to be the castle of Count Dracula. Intrigued? You've got nothing to fear... Explore the infamous fortress on a guided tour and hear the secrets that inspired Bram Stoker to write his famous Gothic novel.
You'll then have free time to eat, before leaving for Brasov, where you'll explore the historic centre and its most important landmarks. The Black Church particularly stands out as a symbol of the city and the best example of Gothic architecture in Romania. How did it get this name? You'll find out on the tour!
After visiting the city, feel spend the night in Brasov.
Day 2
We'll have breakfast and then leave the hotel to hop on a bus that will take us to Sighisoara, the city of Dracula. We'll explore its streets, full of colour and traditional houses while we learn about the history of Bram Stoker, and Count Dracula.
Afterwards, we'll make our way to the Rupea Citadel, one of the most famous fortresses in the region of Transylvania. We'll learn about the numerous attacks that this structure had to face in order to defend its inhabitants, and we'll see some incredible panoramic views from the top of its hill.
The next stop will be dependent on the time of year. From November to May, we'll head to Prejmer, where an imposing church awaits us, a World Heritage Site, whose exterior will leave you totally speechless.
If you're taking the tour from June to October, we'll travel along the Transfăgărășan, Romania's most winding road. This is one of the most fascinating roads in the world!
We'll finish this tour by returning to Bucharest. When we arrive in the capital, we'll bring this tour to an end after 2 days.
Accommodation
The accommodation in which you'll stay during this tour will be the Bella Musica Hotel, a 3-star hotel. If there is no availability at this hotel, you will stay in another hotel of the same quality.
Please Note
The return journey to Bucharest will only go via the Transfagarasan Highway between 30th June and 30th October, if weather conditions allow. Otherwise, we'll travel via a different route. On the other hand, from December 1st to May 31st, the tour will make a stop at Prejmer and will not take a tour along the Transfăgărășan highway.
