Yorkín Indigenous Community Tour
Yorkín Indigenous Community Tour
At 9 am, we'll meet in Bambú, in the Costa Rica's Bribri Talamanca Indigenous Territory. There, one of the members of the Yorkín community will be waiting for us to give us a first-hand account of their lifestyle, culture and traditions.
First of all, we'll board a canoe and cruise the waters of the Yorkín River for about an hour and a half, the perfect opportunity to see the local plants and wildlife!
Once on dry land, we'll disembark and walk for approximately 15 minutes to our destination, where we will meet other members of the community who will explain their work on the local organic farm. We'll also learn about the properties of some medicinal plants. Afterwards, we'll have the opportunity to visit the school and some of the local peoples' houses.
During the tour, you'll also enjoy a delicious traditional lunch of local Yorkín delicacies. We'll then visit the cocoa plantations in the area and learn how to use a bow, the hunting tool of choice of the local community.
Finally, we'll make our way back to the meeting point, where we'll arrive at around 4:30 pm.
