Yorkín Indigenous Community: 2 Day Tour
Yorkín Indigenous Community: 2 Day Tour
Day 1: Bribi - Yorkín Indigenous Community
On the first day of our tour, we'll meet at 9 am in the Bribri Talamanca Indigenous Territory, where our guide will be waiting for us. Let's get started!
We'll board a canoe and sail for about an hour and a half to the shore nearest the indigenous community of Yorkín. Once there, we'll get off the boat and walk for approximately 15 minutes until we reach our destination.
Arriving at the village, we'll be welcomed by different members of the community, who will offer us some snacks before accompanying us to the ranch where we'll spend the night. We'll then take a guided tour of the village to learn about the local way of life and the environmental projects carried out here.
Finally, we'll learn about the process of cocoa preparation here from the time they pick the pods. We'll make a jícara with our own hands and enjoy tasting the chocolate from it!
Day 2: Yorkín Indigenous Community - Bribi
After spending a very special night surrounded by nature, we'll fuel up for the day with a delicious traditional breakfast before going on a tour to discover the medicinal plants of the area. You're sure to be surprised by their numerous properties and health benefits!
We'll then attend an archery class, where we'll learn how to master this ancient weapon. Afterwards, we'll walk to the Panamanian area of the Yorkín River. There, we'll find a beautiful waterfall where you can take a refreshing swim before lunch.
Finally, we'll make our way back to the meeting point in Bribri, where we'll end this 2-day tour at around 3 pm.
