Brescia Private Guided Tour
Brescia Private Guided Tour
At the selected time, we'll meet at the Piazza del Foro to start our private tour of Brescia. During this walking tour, we'll learn many historical facts and admire the key monuments in this charming city in the Lombardy region.
Our tour will start with a visit to the Roman ruins of Brescia. We'll travel back to the 1st century to learn about the history of this site that'll take us back to the golden age of the Ancient Empire in the north of Italy.
Next, we'll continue our walk towards Piazza Paolo VI, a square of medieval origin that today remains the heart of Brescia. Here, we'll admire the facades of the Palazzo Comunale and the two cathedrals of the city. You'll marvel at the great architectural contrast between these two places of worship. From the majesty of the New Cathedral to the Romanesque sobriety of the Old Cathedral.
The next stop of the private tour of Brescia will be the Piazza Della Loggia, with its Renaissance aesthetics. We'll take a look at the palaces surrounding this beautiful square and tell you the story of its astronomical clock.
Before we end the tour, we'll tell you why Brescia is known as the 'lioness of Italy'. We'll look back at the many battles that took place in this part of the country, from the Napoleonic invasion to the uprising against the Austrians.
After two hours of sightseeing, we'll end the private tour in Piazza Della Vittoria.
