La Palma Stargazing Experience
La Palma Stargazing Experience
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Travesía Los Cancajos, in the municipality of Breña Baja. After we've introduced ourselves, you'll get back into your vehicle and follow the guide as they drive to our stargazing viewpoint.
The viewpoint we choose will depend on the weather conditions, but they tend to be on the island's peaks. Once we've reached our destination, we'll get out of our cars and start to admire the breathtaking night sky.
Did you know that La Palma is one of the best places in the world to stargaze? The island's altitude and low light pollution have made it an ideal place for astronomy lovers. We'll see star clusters, nebulae, some planets and, with a bit of luck, the spiral arm of the Milky Way.
With a telescope to help us, we'll be able to spot celestial bodies that are light-years away. We'll also look at some of the most well-known constellations and explain how you can find the North Star.
After three and a half hours, we'll finish our activity as we return to the starting point.
Transport not included
Please note that the meeting point is not the actual place where the stargazing takes place. Instead, from that point, we must go to the stargazing spot. The duration usually varies from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the weather of the day.
