On this day trip to Zilina and Mala Fatra National Park, we'll visit the capital of northwestern Slovakia and a spot on the Western Carpathian mountain range.
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Bratislava Central Station, from where your high-speed train will depart for Zilina.
Once in Zilina station, we'll meet you and head to the Vrátna Valley, located in the heart of the Mala Fatra National Park. Throughout the trip, you'll enjoy the landscapes of northern Slovakia while we tell you the most curious facts about the region.
Upon arrival at our destination, we'll board the cable car that will take us to Snilovske Peak, located at an altitude of 1524 meters. When we reach the top, we'll take a pleasant walk while admiring the breathtaking sight of the peaks of the Mala Fatra National Park.
Afterwards, we'll descend back down to the valley to head for Terchova. This village nestled in the mountains of the park is famous for its folk traditions and music. Did you know that it's been part of the Unesco World Heritage list since 2013? There we'll visit the beautiful church of Saints Cyril and Methodius to discover its history.
Worked up an appetite yet? Don't worry, we'll take a break at a local restaurant to enjoy lunch consisting of a starter and a main course.
Next, we'll head for Zilina, the capital of northwestern Slovakia. There we'll take a guided tour of the historic center. The Holy Trinity Cathedral, the Budatín Castle, the Mariánske Square, the Rosenfeld Palace – we'll visit all the highlights!
Finally, we'll return to the train station in Zilina, where you'll take the train to Bratislava. After 13.5 hours of sightseeing, we'll finish the tour back at the starting point.
