Transylvania and Wallachia Castles Tour
At the indicated time we'll depart from the centrally located Modarom building in Brasov to start our tour of Transylvania and Wallachia. Let's go!
Our first stop will be the municipality of Sinaia, in the mountainous area of Wallachia. Did you know that the first buildings and the old church of the monastery were completed between 1690 and 1695? We'll tell you all about this imposing building!
Afterwards, we'll take a guided tour of the Peles Castle. This late 19th-century palace, commissioned by King Charles I of Romania, was the first building in Europe to have electricity and a lift. We'll walk through its beautiful gardens with fountains and sculptures before entering its majestic rooms. Inside you'll appreciate the sumptuous decoration that characterised this type of palace in the years before the First World War.
Next, we'll head south to Bran Castle. This beautiful landmark is also known as “Dracula’s Castle”. Accompanied by your guide, visit its numerous rooms while you learn about Vlad Tepes “the Impaler”. The terrifying stories about this fifteenth-century sinister historical figure, also called Vlad Dracula, inspired Bram Stoker to write his famous novel “Dracula”.
Finally, we'll say goodbye at the starting point 7 hours after the start of the activity.
