We'll pick you up at your hotel in Brasov at the indicated time to start this excursion to St. Anna Lake. Did you know that it's the only volcanic lake in Eastern Europe? You're sure to fall in love with its stunning scenery!
After a 1.5-2 hour drive, we'll arrive at our destination, where we'll begin our walk in the Ciomatu Mountains of the Eastern Carpathians, located 3,117 feet (950 meters) above sea level!
Throughout the walk, we'll tell you about the peculiarities of this place that formed in the crater of a volcano that erupted about 32,000 years ago. Little by little, it has become one of the favorite destinations for all those who travel to Transylvania. Not only for its beauty, but also for its legends!
What's more, this is a protected area where you can see carnivorous plants, miniature conifers, and many other species that can only be seen in the summer months!
As the last stop, we'll head to Balvanyos, where we'll start a walking route to the "stinking caves" and the "bird cemetery". Find out how they got these names on the tour!
Finally, we'll return to Brasov after 8-10 hours of exploring.
