If you want to visit some of Transylvania and Wallachia's most impressive locations departing from Brasov, you can book one of the following private day trips. They all include return transport in a vehicle with air conditioning and an English-speaking guide.

Bran Castle and Rasnov Citadel Day Trip (4 Hours)

We'll leave Brasov to head towards Rasnov, a picturesque Romanian village dating back to the medieval period, where we'll visit its charming historic centre and its strong fortress. The tour will continue to the Bran stronghold, known as Dracula's castle, where you'll find out more about the legend of Vlad the Impaler. After learning about the history of the famous character which inspired Bram Stoker ( the author of Dracula), we'll head back to Brasov. The itinerary will be similar to that of Dracula's Castle and Rasnov Citadel Tour.

Bran, Rasnov and Peles Day Trip (8 Hours)

The private day trip around Transylvania and Wallachia will start from Brasov, and go to the Rasnov Citadel, the origin of mysterious legends... You'll hear the sinister stories about the next monument we'll visit, Bran castle. Are the stories that place the murky obsessions of Count Dracula himself in this location true?

After some free time to have lunch in Sinaia we'll go to Peles Castle, one of the most beautiful buildings in the city which holds a curious record for precocity and innovation throughout Europe. Then we'll return to Brasov. The tour will follow a similar itinerary to the Transylvania and Wallachia Castles Tour.

Sighisoara Day Trip (8 Hours)

From Brasov, we'll make our way to the medieval village of Sighisoara which has gone down in history as the hometown of Vlad Tepes 'The Impaler', the 15th-century ruler who inspired the character of Dracula. We'll visit the famous Church of the Hill and the Clock Tower, home to the city's History Museum.

After spending free time having lunch, we'll go back to Brasov. During the return journey, we'll admire the Rupea Citadel one of the most symbolic bastions in the region. The tour will be similar to the Sighisoara Trip.

Sighisoara and Viscri Day Trip (9 Hours)

The tour will leave from Brasov to Viscri, a small town in the Transylvania region full of many hidden secrets. We'll wander around the historic centre, which stands out for its fortified church. Next, the tour will continue on to the city of Sighisoara. Here, in Vlad Tepes' birthplace, we'll visit the famous Church of the Hill and the Clock Tower. At midday, you'll have free time to have lunch and walk around Sighisoara's historic centre at your leisure.

Later in the afternoon, we'll meet back up and head south. After a brief stop to take photos and admire the imposing Rupea Citadel, we'll go back to Brasov.

Entrance Tickets

The day trips don't include tickets to some of the monuments which will be visited. The prices per person are the following:

• Rasnov Citadel: Adults 12 RON (US$ 2.74); Children under 12 years old and students 6 RON (US$ 1.37)
• Bran Castle: Adults 55 RON (US$ 12.59); Over 65 years old 40 RON (US$ 9.15); Students 30 RON (US$ 6.86); Children under 7 years old 15 RON (US$ 3.43)
• Peles Castle: Adults 60 RON (US$ 13.73); Over 65 years old 30 RON (US$ 6.86); Children under 10 years old and students 15 RON (US$ 3.43)

Tickets to the Church of the Hill and the Clock Tower in Sighisoara and the Viscri fortified church are included in the day trips.

Important Information

• Peles Castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. If your day trip is on one of those days, after visiting the Bran castle we'll go straight back to Brasov.
• The Sighisoara Clock Tower is closed on Mondays. On this day we'll visit the Luterana church.
• The Viscri fortified church is usually closed between November and March. If it's closed we'll visit the exterior.
• Due to renovation work, the upper part of the Rasnov Citadel will not be accessible until further notice.
