Dracula's Castle & Rasnov Citadel Tour

  • 77 reviews | 676 travellers
At this time of year Bran Castle was practically open to us alone, it is a recommended visit if you are in Brasov. On the other hand, the Rasnov fortress has disappointed us a little, since it is currently being restored and there is not much to see apart from the wall. Florin a 10, he is a very good guide, punctual, very pleasant and speaks Spanish very well. Thank you very much Florin!

Dracula's Castle & Rasnov Citadel Tour

Greet your English-speaking guide in front of Mondarom Building, in the city center, and hop on an air-conditioned minibus. Enjoy the picturesque scenery while you are driven to the town of Râşnov, only 30 minutes’ drive away.

Upon arrival, embark on a short walking tour of Râşnov’s historic center and admire the huge Hollywood-like sign perched at the top of a hill with the name of the town on it. Next, head to Râşnov Citadel, an imposing 13th-century fortress built on the peak of a mountain. Led by your guide, enjoy a one-hour guided tour of the landmark. Marvel at the breathtaking views from the bastion and learn about the fascinating history of the citadel, strategically built between Transylvania and Wallachia.

After visiting the fortress, continue the excursion by heading south. In a little over 15 minutes, you’ll get to Bran Castle, popularly known as “Dracula’s Castle. Discover the sinister story of Vlad Dracula and find out why he was called “Vlad the Impaler”. Your knowledgeable guide will reveal all the mysteries about this historical figure on an hour and half tour of Bran Castle.

Once the tour is over, you’ll head back to Braşov. On your 40-minute journey back to Braşov, marvel at the beautiful mountains and valleys of Transylvania
