Brazilian Cerrado Day Bike Excursion
Brazilian Cerrado Day Bike Excursion
When booking this trip, you can choose between two routes depending on your level and if you need to rent a bike. You can also choose whether you want us to pick you up at the hotel or meet you directly at the meeting point at 6:30 am. Below we show you the details for each option.
Bike excursion for beginners
We'll depart and head to the Vida na Terra farm and here we'll enjoy a delicious breakfast made with organic products. We'll start the bike ride through the Cerrado ecoregion following the Lava Pés route. Did you know that the Cerrado is the second largest biome in Brazil?
During our bike trip, we'll also cycle past the main monuments of Brasilia, such as the Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge, the Three Powers Square, the Cathedral, the National Museum and the esplanade of the Ministries. Afterwards, we'll follow the bike path that connects the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil with the Golf Club and pass under the JK bridge and admire the beautiful Paranoá Lake.
Pontão do Lago Sul will be the next stop where we'll stop for a delicious lunch before heading back. Our next stop will be the Ermida Dom Bosco. The chapel has a very strange shape which almost makes it even more unique. It was designed by the architect Oscar Niemeyer, without a doubt a must for visiting.
We'll cycle for a total of 40 kilometres.
Cycling excursion for experts
After breakfast at the Vida na Terra farm, we'll cycle to the São Bartolomeu River. To continue the bike route, we'll cycle along the Bee Trail and here you can choose between two routes for the descent: one longer and the other steeper and more physically demanding. Once down, we'll take a break before climbing up to the Fazenda Taboquinha farm. During the 2-kilometre walk, we'll stop at a viewpoint to contemplate the Leste plateau and the landscapes of the Brazilian Cerrado.
We'll then take a dirt track in the direction of the Trilha Bundinha. Once we get there, we'll cycle over streams and you'll even have the chance to swim in the waters of the river.
After a route of 28 kilometres, we'll return to the starting point of the excursion, Vida na Terra. Here we'll enjoy a typical lunch including rice, beans, salad and meat. We'll conclude the excursion at 2:30 pm.
Pickup
The excursion includes hotel pickup and dropoff in Brasilia. If you're staying in another area, you'll have to go directly to the meeting point at Condomínio Privê Morada Sul.
