Brasilia Bike Tour
On this Brasilia Bike Tour, you'll be able to choose which itinerary you want to follow depending on your preferences. All depart from the same meeting point at the time of your choice:
Brasilia Administratic Centre Tour (3 hours)
With this tour we'll pass by the TV Tower, the headquarters of the Clube do Choro, designed by Oscar Niemeyer as a tribute to Brazilian culture, the Planetarium, the Mane Garrincha stadium and the Ulysses Guimaraes convention centre, one of the largest in the country. Did you know that it houses five auditoriums?
Continue to the Buriti Palace, seat of the Federal District government, the JK Memorial, erected in honour of former president Juscelino Kubitschek, and the Indigenous Peoples Memorial. The next stop will be at the Rainha da Paz military cathedral, where Pope John Paul II gave a solemn mass in 1991. Then we'll continue to the Sarah Kubitscheck Park, the largest urban park in South America, and the Plaza de Los Cristales.
Monumental Axis Tour (3 hours)
We'll start at the Television Tower, from where we'll cycle along the Monumental Axis, the avenue where the government buildings of Brasilia designed by Oscar Niemeyer, the so-called "poet of curves", are located.
We'll ride along the two sectors of the axis: the south, where the commercial area and the hospital are located, and the north, dedicated to culture. Here we'll be able to see the national library and museum and the Metropolitan Cathedral. We'll then continue on to visit the Esplanade of the Ministries and the Plaza de Los Tres Poderes. Finally, we'll see the Lucio Costa Hall and the Ministry of Justice and end the tour at the central bus station.
Fatima Quarter and Fatima Church Tour (3 hours)
On this tour, we'll explore the area of the Church of Fatima and its residential neighbourhood. We'll start at the TV tower and cycle past the Clube do Choro, the concert hall of Brasilia, and the Sarah Kubitschek Park, created by the landscape architect Burle Marx.
We'll continue on to Sul 308 square and the Brasilia cinema, home to the city's film festival. Continuing with the cultural thread we'll see the Renato Russo space and arrive at the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, built at the request of Sarah Kubitscheck. The last stop will be at the Don Bosco sanctuary, dedicated to the patron saint of Brasilia.
Lucio Costa Stopovers Tour (5 hours)
This route is designed to discover the city planned by Lucio Costa, a pioneer of modern architecture in Brazil. Did you know that Brasilia is the only contemporary city declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site? Costa planned four scales or sectors: monumental, gregarious, residential and bucolic.
We'll start with the Monumental Axis, where the main public buildings of Brasilia are located. We'll continue through the residential area, seeing the dwellings organised in "superquadras" or large self-functional blocks. The next scale is the gregarious, dedicated to commercial and social life, where the banks, hotels and entertainment areas are located, and the bucolic, where we'll find the green areas of Brasilia.
