Join us for a journey back in time as we visit all the must-see spots and historic monuments on a tour of Braga, affectionately known as the "Portuguese Rome!"
Braga Guided Tour
Meet us at Largo da Praça Velha to kick off our guided tour of Braga, where we'll get to know this Portuguese city.
In this historic plaza, one of the oldest plazas in the city, we can admire the emblematic Porta Nova Arch, built in 1512. With its ornate baroque and neoclassical details, it provides the perfect entryway to the Braga Wall.
Next, we'll head to the Medieval Tower which serves as an excellent example of northern Portuguese architecture.
Our walking tour continues as we stroll down Diogo de Sousa Street to the Town Hall building. Initially starting construction in 1754 and finished in 1865, this incredible baroque-style building is a feast for the eyes!
Braga is considered Portugal's religious center, and during our tour, we'll discuss the storied past of this particular area. We'll pass through the Santa Barbara Gardens and the Third Order Church, a monument dedicated to Pope John Paul II, and the impressive Braga Cathedral while sharing interesting facts about this city's storied past.
We'll also discover some of the most amazing buildings from the 18th century in this beautiful Portuguese city, like Casa Rolão, Casa dos Crivos, and Capela e Casa dos Coimbras.
Finally, we'll return to the meeting point 2.5 hours later, bringing our tour to a close.
