Description
When booking, you can choose between 2 different options. Both include pickup at your hotel in Boticas at 9 am, an English-speaking guide, and return transfer:
Tour of Chaves, Boticas, & Montalegre
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Boticas and head towards the Tras-os-Montes area where we'll visit one of its most beautiful regions: Alto Tamega. There, we'll be visiting small villages so charming that you won't want to leave.
The first stop will be Montalegre, a unique village that stands out for its spectacular 13th-century castle. Right at the very foot of this fortress we can find the Ecomuseu de Barroso - Espaço Padre Fontes. Its exhibits are dedicated to both the history and the environmental heritage of this village.
After exploring the museum, we'll head back to Boticas to visit the Rural Museum. Then, you'll have an hour of free time to enjoy a delicious lunch. Then, after lunch, we'll head to Chaves to visit its medieval castle and discover its Roman heritage, such as its thermal baths and its stone bridge.
Lastly, we'll make our way back to your hotel in Boticas, dropping you off at 5 pm.
Tour of Chaves, Valpaços, & Vila Pouca de Aguiar
This option will allow you to get to know Chaves, as in the previous tour, in addition to other emblematic places of Trás-os-Montes.
We'll discover the highlights of Vila Pouca de Aguiar, where we'll visit the Parque de Pedras Salgadas, a wooded area with stones of various shapes. We'll also visit Valpaços, where we'll visit the Wine Museum and learn about the winemaking tradition of this town. You decide which areas you want to visit!
