We'll meet at the Monument to the Girondins at the Place des Quinconces and set off on this night tour of Bordeaux, the romantic lighting with the sunset backdrop is sure to make you swoon.
First, we'll begin by sharing the story behind this imposing monument, the ideal way to start learning about the capital of Aquitaine. From here, we'll walk through the picturesque streets of Bordeaux until we reach the Place de la Comédie, where we'll contemplate the Grand Théâtre and the Opéra National, two emblematic monuments that take on a very different appearance by the light of the moon.
We'll walk along the Rue Sainte Catherine, one of the most important thoroughfares of the French city, and arrive at the Place du Parlement, one of the most important sites in the city since the year 1952. Another highlight of this night tour of Bordeaux will be the Place de la Bourse, where we'll get great views of the Garonne River and the famous Water Mirror.
During the final stretch, we'll approach the Porte Cailhau and the Cathedral of Bordeaux. After learning about the history of this flamboyant-style Gothic monument, we'll end the tour after two hours of sightseeing.
