When you visit the Cité du Vin (City of Wine), you'll discover everything about Bordeaux's famous wine culture, and its historical wine-growing tradition which dates back centuries.
After exchanging your voucher for the tickets at the priority gate, you'll start your visit to the wine museum, located in a huge open space building with state-of-the-art design.
We'll take a trip through the evolution of this drink as we pass through the 20 different themed areas of the museum. You'll find out just why the city of Bordeaux is synonymous with this drink and why the region is considered to produce some of the best wines in the world.
After you have soaked up the different types of wines that are produced on both sides of the Garonne River, you can taste a glass of wine for yourself at the Belvedere of the museum. From its panoramic terrace, you'll be able to admire the spectacular views of the city of Bordeaux.

The Cité du Vin is open daily at the following times:
- November 3 to December 31, 2024: from 10 am to 6 pm, from Monday to Friday, and from 10 am to 7 pm at weekends and national holidays.
- December 24: from 10 am to 4 pm
- December 25: closed
- January 1 to January 4, 2025: from 10 am to 7 pm
- January 5 to April 4, 2025: 10 am to 6 pm
- April 5 to November 1, 2025: from 10 am to 7 pm
- November 2 to January 4, 2026: from 10 am to 6 pm
