Join us on this hiking route through Boca da Onca to see first-hand the highest waterfall in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Limestone gorges, natural pools and native forests will mark our steps.
Boca da Onca Hiking Tour
At the agreed time we'll meet at Rodovia Bodoquena. From this point, we'll start a hiking route that will take us to the famous Boca da Onca waterfall, the highest in Mato Grosso do Sul, measuring 156 metres (511 feet)!
We'll start walking deeper and deeper into the Brazilian native forest. We'll breathe fresh air and get in touch with nature as we go on a hiking route of moderate difficulty for a total of 4.5 kilometres (2.7 miles).
Before arriving at Boca da Onça we'll see another eight waterfalls that flow in this natural landscape and we'll make several stops to rest. If you want, you can take a refreshing dip in the Salobra River and in the natural pools that we'll find along the way.
Of course, we'll explain how the Boca da Onca waterfall was formed, visit the river beach and learn how the name of this natural monument is related to a jaguar.
After five hours of walking, we'll finish the activity by arriving at the starting point. Here, you'll find different rest areas, as well as a swimming pool, a bar and even a small museum. See you next time!
Timetable
