Join us on this guided tour of the Blue Lake Grotto where we'll explore one of Bonito's great natural attractions. You'll be fascinated to see the underground spring that houses this cave, declared a National Heritage Site.
Blue Lake Grotto Guided Tour
At the agreed time we'll meet at the Frida Garzella dos Santos road, 22 kilometres from the centre of Bonito. From here, we'll follow a small path that leads to the entrance of the Blue Lake cave, partially hidden by the jungle vegetation.
Get ready to contemplate a real beauty! Accompanied by our guide, we'll put on our safety helmets and enter the cave by descending some 300 steps dug into the ground. As we enter this rocky cavity, we'll begin to see dozens of stalactites and stalagmites that have been formed over thousands of years.
As we get closer to the depths of the Blue Lake grotto, you'll understand the reason for its name. Its underground lake surprises everyone who visits with the intense indigo colour of its waters. In fact, given its uniqueness, this place was declared a National Historic and Artistic Heritage Site in 1978.
You'll have enough time to take photos of the cave's spring before returning up the stairs to the surface.
After an hour and 20 minutes, the guided tour will end at the starting point.
