Boipeba Island Whale-Watching
Description
We'll meet at the scheduled time at the Pousada Pérola do Atlântico, where an expert oceanographer will give us an informative talk about these humpback whales that inhabit the waters off the coast of the Brazilian state of Bahía.
After the talk, we'll make our way to Boca da Barra or Quteiro Beach, depending on the weather conditions. Once there, we'll take a boat ride around the north-west coast of the island. During the boat ride, which will last around 2 hours, we'll enjoy an unforgettable humpback whale-watching experience.
As we sail along this area of the Atlantic Ocean, we'll come in close contact with these native whales. Did you know that they can reach up to 15 metres (49 feet) in length and 40 tonnes in weight? The expert oceanographer, who will be onboard with us, will tell us all the interesting facts about these humpback whales.
After this, we'll leave the area reserved for the whales and those who wish can take a refreshing dip in the Atlantic. The perfect way to end the day!
Finally, the tour will be brought to an end back at the meeting point on land, after 5 hours in total.
Whale-Watching
The coast of Boipeba Island is one of the best locations on the Brazilian coat to go humpback whale-watching. However, these animals are unpredictable. The sighting of these animals will depend on a multitude of factors such as weather conditions, as well as the breeding and rearing seasons of the different species.
