Bogotá and Montserrate Cable Car Tour
After picking you up at your hotel in the Colombian capital, we'll start our guided tour of Bogota by driving through the city centre. There, you'll see the different historical monuments such as the Teatro Colón or the Palacio de San Carlos, which is currently the headquarters of the chancellery of the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the route through the neighbourhood of La Candelaria, you'll pass by the church of San Ignacio de Loyola, a building that has been restored and preserved with its original architecture. We'll also admire the Presidential Palace of Nariño, located in the famous Plaza Bolivar. Around this neoclassical architecture, we'll observe outstanding monuments such as the Catedral Primada de Colombia, the Capitolio Nacional and the Palacio de Liévano, which is the seat of the municipal mayor's office.
Next, we'll enjoy a guided tour of the Gold Museum. Its exhibition of pre-Hispanic art is one of the most important in Latin America and has a collection of approximately 60,000 pieces of metal, ceramic, bone, wood and emerald.
To round off the tour, we'll take the Montserrate cable car, depending on availability, which will take us to the top of the hill from where we'll have exceptional views of the Colombian capital.
After 5 hours, we'll take you to your hotel.
Important Information
The Gold Museum is closed on Mondays. If you take the tour on this day, instead of contemplating the golden pieces of the museum we'll visit the Botero Museum instead. The works of Fernando Botero, one of the most established Colombian artists, will surely surprise you!
