Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at the ticket office of the Monserrate cable car to begin our guided tour of this iconic location in Bogota. From this spot, we'll hop onto the cable car, depending on availability, up to the top of the mountain, where you'll be met with spectacular views of the city.
At the summit, we'll visit the Basilica of the Fallen Lord of Monserrate and we'll recount how this location turned into an important pilgrimage destination and why, over time, it has attracted tourists from all over the world. You'll also learn about the Catholic traditions and customs that are part of daily life in Colombia.
While we walk around the mountain, we'll stop at all the main viewpoints, where you'll be able to admire the majestic Bogota from different vantage points at an altitude of 3152 metres (10341 feet). This elevation above sea level is perfect not only for observing how far the city stretches but also for viewing other locations at the capital's outskirts.
We'll also make a stop at the wishing well, where you'll be able to throw a coin down and make a wish at the feet of the Virgin of Monserrate. It's a tradition you'll not want to miss out on!
Lastly, we'll return to our initial starting point after finishing this hour-and-a-half-long tour.
