Bogotá Architecture Tour

When making your booking, you'll be able to choose from two different options. Both include pickup from your hotel at the indicated time, drop off at the end of the tour and an exclusive English-speaking guide.

5-Hour Tour

Once we've picked you up from your hotel, we'll set off on our tour around the Colombian capital's most iconic works of architecture.

First, we'll visit the Centro Internacional de Bogotá, where we'll admire one of Bogotá's first large-scale business hubs, established during the city's expansion from a small settlement into the bustling capital of Colombia.

Next, we'll head to the La Candelaria neighbourhood, which dates back to the 16th century. We'll stroll through its colonial streets and admire churches such as San Ignacio and Santa Clara, and mansions such as the Casa del Virrey. In addition, we'll visit the Plaza de Bolívar and take a look at the French details on some of the buildings, such as the City Hall.

Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a panoramic tour of the Santafé district’s neighbourhoods, showcasing a variety of architectural styles including Austrian, Art Deco, and German influences. We’ll then visit the elegant houses of La Merced, followed by the vibrant Macarena neighbourhood, a perfect spot for photos!

During our tour, we'll also discover how the Spanish heritage gradually gave way to Anglo-Saxon aesthetics by visiting the neighbourhoods of Teusaquillo and La Magdalena. We'll discuss the migratory wave that Bogotá received in the middle of the 20th century, which led to the construction of the Simón Bolívar Central Park and Virgilio Barco Library.

We'll continue to Ciudad Salitre and take a brief tour of the Santa Barbara hacienda. The final stop on our tour will be the Usaquén flea market, where you'll have half an hour free for lunch. Finally, we'll drop you back at your hotel after a total of 5 hours.

10-Hour Tour

Are you after even more fun? If so, you'll love our 10-hour tour. We'll follow the same route as detailed above, but we'll spend more time discussing the history of the buildings we see.

In addition, in the afternoon we'll be able to visit the neighbourhoods of Santa Ana and Santa Barbara, where we'll discover how the assassination of the politician Jorge Eliecer Gaitan changed the urban planning of the Colombian capital. The Parque de la 93, the Zona Rosa and incredible viewpoints will make up the final part of the tour.

Finally, we'll finish the activity as we drop you off back at your hotel.

Hotel Pickup

This tour includes pickup from hotels located in the Metropolitan Area of Bogotá. If your accommodation is outside this area, we'll contact you to arrange a meeting point.
