Kjerringøy & Nordfjord Cruise
Description
On the day of the activity, at the scheduled time, we'll meet at the pier behind the Bryggerikaia Restaurant (Sjøgata 1). From this point in the Bodø region, we'll set off and make our way on the calm waters towards the beaches of Hovdsundet and Mjelle.
Once we've slowly sailed past the beaches, we'll eventually reach the fjord of Nordfjorden. Despite appearing quite narrow, this is the sixth-longest fjord in Norway, stretching to 106 kilometres (65 miles) in length. This stunning fjord has remained entirely untouched and lies within the boundaries of the Sjunkhatten National Park.
Throughout this tour, our knowledgeable guides onboard the cruise will reveal interesting information about the surrounding environment. You'll also have tons of opportunities to take stunning photos of the beautiful landscapes throughout this area of northern Norway. Don't forget your camera!
Following on, we'll see Kjerringøy Handelsted, an 18th-century historic trading post (established in the late 1700s) that is home to a rich and fervent history. Here, you'll have 1.5 hours of free time to explore the open-air museum, made up of 15 individual buildings, and learn about this location's rich history and heritage.
Finally, after a tour of between 5 and 6 hours, we'll make our way back to Bodø. Til neste gang!
