Isla Escudo de Veraguas Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the port of Isla Colón to begin our trip to Isla Escudo de Veraguas. To do so, we'll board a boat in Bocas del Toro and sail along the Caribbean Sea for 3 hours.
On the way, we'll make a stop at a pristine beach in the area so you can take a dip. On arrival at Isla Escudo de Veraguas, we'll get off the boat and take a scenic tour to discover the island's biodiversity. You'll fall in love with its landscapes from the very first moment!
This hidden treasure of Panama is considered the natural habitat of the Pygmy 3-toed sloth, a species in danger of extinction. It's also home to the strawberry poison-dart frog. We'll keep an eye out for these and other species throughout the route.
Afterwards, we'll stop at a beach so you can go snorkelling and discover the seabed of the Panamanian Caribbean. Make the most of this swim in crystal-clear waters! In this paradisiacal corner of paradise, you'll have some free time for lunch.
After lunch, we'll head to the community of Río Caña, where we'll reveal the most deeply-rooted traditions of the local people of Isla Escudo. We'll then attend a traditional dance show.
Then, we'll see how the local people work with the materials they extract from nature to make the most interesting artisan products. Will you be able to resist buying a piece? We'll then leave the village and return to the boat for the return trip to Bocas del Toro.
Finally, we'll say goodbye at the starting point 10 hours later and say our goodbyes.
