Immerse yourself in the charms of the Dominican Republic on this safari truck tour of Higüey and the sugar cane plantations. Plus, you'll enjoy a boat trip on the Chavón River!
Description
At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Boca Chica and board the safari trucks ready to explore the southern Dominican Republic.
During the truck safari, we'll drive over mud flats and uneven terrain, making for an unforgettable adrenaline rush! What's more, you'll have the opportunity to photograph the extensive sugar cane plantations that surround the Dominican village of Benérito.
We'll also visit a weighing station and a local village, known as a batey. You'll be able to meet the farmers who work here, learn about their way of life and enjoy a tasting of sugar cane.
The tour will continue to the city of Higüey, where you'll learn how Dominican cigars are made at an organic tobacco factory. Afterwards, we'll tour the central market and visit the Basilica of the Virgin of Altagracia before indulging in a delicious Dominican lunch.
Finally, it'll be time for a dip in the Chavón River - you can even play with the vines! For the finishing touch, we'll enjoy a cruise on the Chavón River aboard a traditional boat with a wooden roof. You'll love it!
Afterwards, we'll return to the truck and make our way back to the hotels in Boca Chica, where we'll arrive around 5 pm.
